Libra New Moon

Date: September 28, 2019

The Libra New Moon is here. It’s time to set intentions and open up to new ideas. As the leaves change and our energy shifts, we’re able to think a bit clearer and with less emotion than we did a few weeks ago with many of the planets finally in the air sign of Libra.

Libra is about charm, romance and trying to find balance. There’s a false idea that people with strong Libra ARE balanced. The truth is, they are trying to FIND balance. We’re being called to redefine our ideals around beauty and perfection, and examine how those ideals shape our self-worth. How we value ourselves is key, and learning to do so with health and grace is a good way to move forward.

The Libra weakness is the overpowering desire to be liked and accepted, so we need to ask ourselves- how have we fallen prey to these impulses and what do we need to release to find balance and return to self-love? Because the Sun and Moon are opposing Chiron in the sign of Aries, there’s an emotional wounding around leading the pack or standing up as a warrior- maybe being too independent has lost you some relationships, or maybe you weren’t as assertive as you needed to be in order to keep the peace and be accepted. It’s time to right that within yourself.

Set goals geared towards self-acceptance rather than social acceptance. Don’t be afraid to stand up for your-self, even if it means pissing someone off. People who don’t accept you aren’t worth your time or energy. This New Moon is setting us up for the Canadian thanksgiving weekend Full Moon, when the Moon will be in Aries, and many of use are spending time with family. Decide now what you’d like that time to look like.

Enjoy the people you love now. Hang out with friends, buy and/or do things that contribute to your self-worth. The nicer you are to yourself, the easier it is to be kind to others, and everyone could do with a lot more kindness these days.
