It’s a New Moon and a New Year! The first New Moon of 2022 is coming in to help this New Year feel fresh. Since New Years Eve will be blessed with a Balsamic Moon and those are good for endings and cleaning stuff up- I’m probably going to try to clean out my liquor cabinet…No not really, but given what 2021 was like and the last 3 months for me specifically, I’m really looking forward to seeing the ass end of this one. I spent the 23rd – the 28th with an infected tooth. The upshot- I did not gain Christmas weight. I also did not sleep and was not fun to be around. I’m still medicating it, but feel good enough to ring in this much needed new cycle, on my couch, in my pajamas- but I WILL stay awake until midnight- being that’s it’s a dark Moon, I may not be sitting up though.
Venus is still Retrograde, so this New Year may feel more nostalgic than previous years. Not in a warm fuzzy way though. Jupiter has now moved into it’s own sign of Pisces. This is a joyful placement for Jupiter, but it does not know limits or boundaries, luckily we’re inundated with earth energy. Having five planets in earth signs will help ground he majority of us. Our dreams will be bigger than what actually happens at this time. Jupiter in Pisces is a lot of wishful thinking.
Mercury will just have moved into Aquarius, but it will retrograde back into Capricorn at the end of January, so whatever you start at the beginning of January will be revisited later in the month and again at the end of February. Mercury is comfortable in Aquarius. Problem solving, inventive ways of looking at things, and unconventional thought processes are part of Mercury in this air sign.
An interesting feature of this New Moon is that the Moon is what is called Out of Bounds- it’s left the rule book behind and has gone rogue. This gives this lunation an anything could happen feeling. Either the skies the limit or this could really go off the rails sort of thing, so if you’re planning to set some intentions or make plans- keep that in mind.
Thank you for reading my blog! Happy New Year!
