The last Solar Eclipse if this season is happening Friday May 5th and 11:34 am Mountain, 10:34 PDT, and 1:34 PM EDT. This is the final Scorpio eclipse and brings a cycle that started April 30th last year. Scorpio is connected to the elimination and excretion of stuff in our bodies- specifically poop. Since this eclipse is happening at the south node of the Moon, which is all about release all that keeps coming to mind is a colonic cleanse. Sometimes the South Node can show a rapid exit so to speak – hence the idea that poop is gonna fly. Not a very glamorous idea, but this particular letting go is quite necessary.
Themes of purification come to mind- and letting it all go is multiplied exponentially here. So if there’s an area of your life where you’re feeling physically, emotionally and/or spiritually constipated, NOW is the time to release, release, release! In Scorpio, I’m talking the deep emotional crap we try really hard to ignore. I’ve heard from a few people that they’ve felt extremely “triggered”- If this is you, it’s time to face the issues that are getting in your face and purge it baby!
This is not a time for holding on, so if there’s anything you’ve been holding on to for dear life since the nodes went into Scorpio/Taurus last year, now is the time to let your grip go and see what happens. With the Mars in nostalgic Cancer (which means the Moon and Mars are in reception in each other’s signs) there’s a real sense of “blast from the past” energy with this eclipse.
The return to something from the past is amplified by Mercury retrograde which is sitting between the Sun and North Node. This says to me that ideas you held in the past need to be let go, or at least transformed. Something old has to die so that something new can grow- this is a theme of the Scorpio/Taurus axis. I wonder though, with Taurus’ ruling planet Venus is Gemini, are people over thinking things? Or maybe having a hard time choosing between 2 paths? There might be a tendency to talk things to death without taking action, or at the very least making an action plan.
The emotionality will only increase when Venus moves into Cancer on Sunday. This shift means we’ll have no personal planets in air. Make sure you’re taking time to take deep nourishing breaths before making big decisions- logic won’t be first and foremost for any of us. Venus in Cancer will only reinforce a feeling of nostalgia and we’ll likely all enjoy a “blast from the past” over the next few weeks.
With all of this emphasis on Moon energy, it’s a great time to rethink your diet. nurturing ourselves through healthy food is a great way to connect with the Moon. Connecting to the themes of the Eclipse- removing things from your diet that aren’t good for you is very well favoured. If you’ve been thinking about exploring your dietary sensitivities, this would be the time to do it.
Doing a thorough smoke cleansing of yourself and your space is a great idea- remember to be safe when burning things. It’s no coincidence we’re experiencing fires at the moment- it’s a means of purification and very connected to the eclipse. What do you need to purify? Soak in a salt bath and think on it- what comes to you might be surprising- Uranus-planet of shock and awe- is the next planet the Sun is saying hello to, so be prepared for anything.
No matter what happens- be kind to yourself. xo
