Untethered Full Moon in Sagittarius

The Full Moon in Sagittarius perfects at 9:41 PM on June 3rd, 2023 Mountain time, 11:41 PM Eastern, 8:41 Pacific, 12:41 AM June 4th Atlantic and 1:11 AM in Newfoundland. This Full Moon chart befuddled me. There are no tight aspects to the Sun or Moon in the Full Moon chart, and all of the aspects between other planets have already happened and are moving away from each other.

That’s NOT to say we aren’t individually having our own connections to this Full Moon in Sagittarius chart, which has the lunation feeling untethered from the rest of the planets. If you have planets or angles at 7 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Leo or Libra, you’re having an impactful Saturn transit. If you have planets at 8 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus, Capricorn or Pisces you’re potentially having an intense Mars transit. I know for me, I have my happy planet in a quincunx aspect to Saturn and I feel like someone sucked out all of my optimistic juice today. Saturn is going to sit at 7 degrees for more than a month– until July 4th- at which time it will retrograde out of that degree only to return in February next year.

Because of the lack of obvious aspects I went looking at midpoints. Jupiter and the North Node are sitting right on the midpoint of Mercury and Chiron. A midpoint is just the middle distance between 2 objects. There are far more complex midpoints, but in this instance I simply looked at whether there were any planets conjunct any midpoints. In Chiron the Healing Journey, Melanie Reinhart describes this combination as sometimes producing propaganda, or gossip– an ability to use the collective wounds to twist the truth in order to win their favor and manipulate. With the planet of justice and a point representing Karma sitting at this midpoint it feels like some sort of comeuppance for lies told. Since Jupiter is ruling the Moon and Gemini ruling the Sun on this Full Moon, and Full Moon’s often bring things into the light….seems like an appropriate interpretation.

We could see this Karmic justice take place with public figures, but this could be true on a personal level as well. The Full Moon in Sagittarius shining light on a truth you’ve kept hidden or tried to ignore might come into the light and you’ll forced to face the music or at the very least, have to be honest with yourself.

Because I was flailing for something to say when I first looked at this chart I pulled a card from my favourite divinatory deck, asking what those reading this blog needed to know, and this is what I pulled-

So I’ll leave you with that. Under this Untethered Sagittarius Full Moon, understand your freedom and know your truth. Clear your self and your space of any negativity. It might be a good time to sit and write down things you’d like to let go of and burn it- fears, attitudes or habits- what needs to go in order for you to move forward in bravery and love?
