Navigating the Full Moon in Aquarius: Finding Stability Amidst Tension

On August 19th at 12:58 PM, the skies will illuminate under the Full Moon in Aquarius, positioned at 27 degrees and 15 minutes, opposing a vibrant Sun in Leo. This celestial event brings into focus the dynamics of individuality versus collective needs, highlighting themes of innovation, rebellion, and expression. I also often see the Leo/Aquarius axis as Creative expression vs. intellectual expression. This particular full Moon chart is extremely dynamic, with most of the planets engaged (although most are moving apart) in very active aspects to each other. 😜

The T-Square Dynamics: Fixed Versus Mutable

This Full Moon forms a T-square with Uranus in Taurus, adding an element of unpredictability and sudden change to the fixed nature of this configuration. Fixed T-squares are known for their intense focus, resistance to change, and the potential for internal tension. They demand that we find balance in areas of our lives that feel rigid or stagnant, urging breakthroughs and transformation through persistence and tenacity.

We also have a T-square between Saturn opposite Venus, both square Jupiter and Mars. In contrast, mutable T-squares, though they also indicate tension and challenges, are typically more adaptable. They suggest a need for flexibility and adjustment in how we manage conflicts or disturbances.

The Specific T-Squares:

  1. Sun and Moon T-square Uranus in Taurus: Although this aspect is separating, it still influences the Full Moon by introducing unexpected shifts related to values and resources. The challenge here lies in balancing self-expression and community welfare with material stability.

  2. Venus in Virgo T-square with Saturn and Mars/Jupiter: Recently separated, this configuration emphasized critical assessments in relationships, finances, and personal values. The tension between Venus's detail-oriented nature in Virgo and the expansive yet restrictive energies of Jupiter and Saturn likely brought lessons about managing expectations and obligations.

The Nature of Separating Versus Applying Aspects:

The Full Moon's aspects are largely separating, suggesting that the events or issues they represent may have already begun to unfold or resolve. This can bring a sense of release or conclusion to ongoing tensions. Conversely, the square between Saturn and Jupiter, which is applying, signifies that challenges related to growth and restriction are still intensifying and will need future attention and resolution.

Given the Full Moon's propensity for closure, letting go, and clearing out the unnecessary, this lunation, brimming with significant separating aspects, urges us to conclude matters that have long outlived their usefulness. With Mercury retrograde also conjunct the Sun as this lunation perfects, there's an undeniable emphasis on revisiting the past and releasing it. This combination of celestial influences makes it impossible to overlook the powerful push toward finality and letting go.

Even though there can be a restrictive quality to growth with the Saturn-Jupiter aspect, the positive side of this planetary connection can be about materializing your wishes. Since the planets are square, there's likely a conflict to endure to get to the good stuff. However, whenever we have a Saturn-Jupiter connection, there's potential for bringing dreams into reality. The trick is not to let Saturn discourage you, but to use its discipline to structure your aspirations into tangible outcomes.

Working with This Full Moon:

  1. Reflect on recent changes and their impact on your long-term goals.

  2. Use the energy of Uranus to come up with innovative strategies rather than disrupt.

  3. Reflect on your contributions to your community versus personal gains.

  4. Prepare for ongoing shifts in how you balance expansion and discipline.

  5. Meditate on finding inner peace amid external chaos.

  6. Engage in activities that ground you, like spending time in nature or practicing mindfulness.

  7. Consider where you might be resisting necessary change, and open yourself to new solutions.

  8. Use the clarity from the separating aspects to finalize decisions or conclude projects.

  9. Plan strategically for challenges highlighted by the applying Saturn-Jupiter square keeping flexibility in mind

  10. Celebrate your weirdness and encourage others to express theirs too!

As this Full Moon in Aquarius shines its light on collective and personal dynamics, it invites us to embrace both innovation and stability, and asks us to find the common ground between creative self-expression versus collective intellectual innovation. By understanding the different energies at play, especially within the complex T-squares, we can move through this time with greater awareness and effectiveness. Always remember - Be kind to yourself.
